Stretching Your Dollar

December 18, 2017

In order to be able to enjoy all of those family activities on the weekend, buy new fine motor or sensory toys for the kids, or just to put some money away, it’s important to be smart with your dollar. We all know it is that time of year when insurance deductibles renew and co-payments can add up quickly… we love to continue seeing your kiddos without breaking your bank, so I’d like to give you 3 easy ways to get a little more bang for your buck.

  1. Buy the newspaper on Sunday; the savings within the paper, aka the coupons, surpass the cost! I’ve also submitted a request with the local newspaper to start-up a YES! Program where people can get just the coupons for free instead of having to buy the paper. So, keep an eye out for that!
  2. Find a coupon website that will match up the coupons in your paper with the deals in your favorite grocery stores. There are numerous sites available that do this and provide you with coupon match-ups weekly. They also inform you of random sales or free samples, constantly.
  3. Just about every store you shop at will have a clearance section. Looking through the Target end caps and matching them up with coupons is a hobby of mine! Food Lion has meats marked down on Friday mornings and Kohl’s has a section within the regular priced items where you can score dirt cheap yet high quality items. The key is to finding the location of clearance sections within your favorite stores and hunting for the deals! After a little practice you will be matching up clearance items with coupons and be scoring excellent deals in no time!
