Empowering Kids Through Innovative Physical Therapy

At Carolina Therapy Connection, our dedicated team of pediatric physical therapists is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. Through individualized care plans and innovative interventions, we work to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and overall physical development.

We offer a variety of evidence-based physical therapy interventions, designed to meet the unique needs of each child. Whether your child is working toward developmental milestones, recovering from an injury, or building motor skills, our programs are here to provide comprehensive and compassionate care.

Our interventions are part of both our regular therapy sessions and intensive therapy programs at our Greenville clinic. These services are designed to deliver focused and impactful therapy that supports children in reaching their goals efficiently and effectively.

NMES/TASES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation/Task Specific Electrical Stimulation)

NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) and TASES (Task Specific Electrical Stimulation) are evidence-based techniques that use gentle electrical stimulation to activate muscles and provide sensory input to promote functional movement patterns, coordination and strength. This therapy is especially helpful for children with neurological or muscular impairments. It's often used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to promote motor skill development and independent mobility.

Full Body Vibration

Full body vibration utilizes a vibration plate at various frequencies to facilitate muscle contractions. It can be used in a variety of positions (sitting, standing, etc.) to promote improved stability and balance. This therapy is great for children of all levels of motor ability to help them improve overall movement quality and stability in a fun, engaging way.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that can be used in a variety of populations. Tape is applied in specific patterns to support muscles and joints in order to reduce pain, improve posture and balance, and promote motor learning and development.

Theratogs

Theratog is a therapeutic garment and series of strapping that provides targeted postural support to promote alignment and stability during movement. Its adjustable design allows for a personalized fit to address specific musculoskeletal, postural, balance, or movement issues. This therapy is utilized for children with various ages and diagnoses including neurological or muscular impairments. It's often used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to promote motor skill development and independent mobility.

Total Motion Release (TMR)

Total Motion Release (TMR) is a unique therapy technique that promotes “healing through ease” with gentle positional release. This practice utilizes movement patterns that come easily to the patient to gain length and control in tight muscles and joints throughout the extremities and trunk to restore symmetrical movement patterns and motor skill development. TMR can be used in children of all ages and can be especially helpful for children with cerebral palsy, orthopedic conditions, and infants with torticollis or developmental delays.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy involves hands-on techniques used to manipulate muscles, joints, and soft tissues to increase flexibility, alleviate pain, and restore normal movement patterns. This therapy can be beneficial for children with musculoskeletal issues, postural imbalances, neurological conditions, or chronic pain. Manual therapy techniques include massage, joint mobilizations, myofascial release, and soft tissue manipulation. The goal is to improve musculoskeletal dysfunction to promote appropriate muscle activation, alignment, and independent mobility.

Body Weight Support Treadmill/Gait Training

Body Weight Support Treadmill/Gait Training utilizes a specialized treadmill system that supports a portion of the child’s body weight while they practice walking. This therapy focuses on improving strength, endurance, coordination, and balance during gait while allowing the therapist to provide more hands-on support to facilitate walking. It can be utilized with children with neurological impairments such as cerebral palsy, brain and spinal cord injury, developmental delay, musculoskeletal conditions and more. By gradually reducing body weight support as the child gains strength and coordination, this therapy helps build confidence and independent walking skills.

Orthotics and Equipment Assessment

Our skilled physical therapists can provide assessment of need for any special equipment or bracing needed to aid in joint and trunk alignment or to assist in independent sitting or walking. Orthotics and equipment can help meet the individual needs of the patient in order to meet the child’s physical therapy goals. Our clinic has options to explore outside referrals for orthotics and equipment with local vendors, in addition to Turtlebracing. Turtlebracing is an innovative, new bracing system with re-modable material used to create braces for upper and lower extremities.
